Crimson Crescendo

Crimson Crescendo – Post modern classical trio
We are so excited to be performing ‘candlelit’ concerts as part of Peninsula Productions ‘Gossamer Glow’ Series 2024/25. We will be at the Peninsula Studio Theatre in White Rock.

September 29th is a stunning programme featuring arrangements for the trio including Debussy’s Claire De Lune (arr.B.Petherick – piano), a beautiful evening showcasing our violinist Monika Niedzielko as soloist .

March 2nd 2025, we will be celebrating some of the most iconic tunes written over the past 100 years as well as the last year (we will be performing Billy Eilish’s ‘What was I made for’ arr. Bruce Petherick – piano ).

May 4th 2025 is our ‘Beatles Re-imagined’ concert. All music has been specially arranged for the Trio and for the Gossamer Glow Series.

What to expect
The lights will be way down low in the Theatre, and the concert will have an intimate and cosy setting. There are just 60 seats available for each concert and so we are expecting tickets to go fast. The Theatre is off North Bluff Road White Rock, (right next to the Centennial Arena) with ample level parking.

Monika Niedzielko (violin) was born in Poland into a musical family spanning three generations. She began studying violin at age of 7 at the National Music school in Tarnow, Poland. She holds a Master degree of Music in Violin Performance from the Music Academy of Krakow, Poland.

Monika began her career as a student, touring across Europe, performing and recording CDs with Tarnow Chamber Orchestra , Sinfonietta Cracovia, Sinfonia Amabile, Cracow Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Polish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, Capella Tarnoviensis Symphony Orchestra (concertmaster). She also toured the USA and the Caribbean Islands as a classical trio performer.

She continues to perform as an accomplished soloist, and is a Gold Medal Teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music, and over the past 20 years her students have won prizes, trophies, first places and were the class winners in many local and international festivals. They also performed at the Carnegie Hall, attended multiple master classes with accomplished violinists, performed as soloists with the orchestra and have been admitted to orchestras and universities. With her vast experience and tremendous dedication to her instrument, Monika shares her musical passion with all. She knows that the magic and joy of music enhances lives in so many ways, and she is proud to instil a lifelong love of music to her students and be a resident of White Rock.

Bruce Petherick (piano) is a Vancouver based autistic advocate, and has also composed and performed music throughout the world for the last 40 years. His first sound design and composition works were created during his High School years, and he has continued to create, perform and music direct, first in his native Australia, and later in London, Mongolia, and in the United States. He moved to Canada in 2001 and has been active as a performer, teacher and composer. Performance highlights include accompanying Dame Kiri Te Kanawa on a tour of Australia, as well as touring in the piano chair with the Count Basie Orchestra, and the Woody Herman Orchestra. He currently performs with the White Rock City Orchestra and often tours throughout Canada performing his own compositions.

Peter Koyander (Double Bass) Canadian born, Peter moved with his family to London UK where he originally trained as a classical guitarist with renowned international soloists Julian Byzantyne and John Williams. He travelled throughout Europe playing solo concerts and in various ensembles. In his early 20’s his love of all genres of music lead him to become a session musician at the famous Olympic Studios, Barnes, London UK. He took up the bass almost by accident when the bassist for the band who were due to record, failed to show up. He pursed his training as a classical double bass career under the mentorship of Caroline Emery (Professor of Double Bass at the Royal College of Music) and soon became a much in demand freelance bassist playing in many orchestras throughout the UK. He is now a proud resident of South Surrey after moving back to Canada some six years ago and now writes and arranges music for the double bass as well as for the Trio.
